His architectural firm, Friedman McAlpin& Associates was established on 1984 at 160 Fifth avenue, N.Y.C to design interiors for leading New York law firms, as well as luxury houses and apartments through New York, New Jersey and Connecticut

In 1986, J.P. Friedman & Associates opened it's offices on Greenwich street, N.Y.C, andwas involved in the design of major architectural projects in New York, Miami Beach and South Carolina

from 1988, the studio was based at one union square west, N.Y.C with satellite offices on lake Pancoast drive,Miami Beach, at the Hellen Mar building. The projectsincluded commercial, residential, historical restorations and interiors. Current projects include new construction throughout Europe and Israel as well as public buildings, homes and apartments
